America's Next Top Model: The Microsoft Blunder Edition

Apparently Microsoft swapped the head of an African American male model for that of a White male model on its Polish site. Microsoft apologized amidst a flurry of critisism and are investigating. Question: Why didn't they change the hand too?!Lol.
I don't see the big deal since Poland's African American population is VERY low. I think it's a case of demographics not racism. The expectation is a company, especially of Microsoft caliber, shouldn't have to photoshop anything. A proper ad should've been in place. Pure embarrassing comedy. Bravo Microsoft!

$250k Lambo A Lemon But Consumer is a Winner

Consumer Ralph purchased a $250k 2008 Lamborghini Gallardo Spider Convertible and soon noticed the brakes had a squeaking & screeching sound-how annoying is that?! When he took it back to the dealer they told him it takes a while for the brakes to break in-ok...He visited a Lambo mechanic that was unable to resolve the problem-experts were even flown in from overseas to resolve but to no avail. Ralph filed a lemon law suit with the State Attorney Generals office in the state of Washington where the car was purchased and won the case. He will return the car for a full refund. The dealer should have done the right thing from the start. Bad PR+legal fees=stupid move. Dancing With The Stars and Politicians

I will try to watch Dancing With The Stars this season. Not for singers Mya, Macy Gray or Kelly Osbourne. Nope. I'm going to watch soley to catch a glimpse of former Republican Majority Leader Tom DeLay. He appeared on Good Morning America yesterday and states "conservatives can have fun too." Ok...he adds that he's been dancing all of his life and that "he's in it to win it." Aren't most Politicos?! DeLay resigned from the House in 2006 after he was indicted on campaign finance charges. The 9th season of the show begins on September 21st on ABC. Pure comedy.

A Moxie Review: Wirefly.com

Freedom...well freedom to choose the carrier I would be indebted to for the next two years. I decided to end the torture with T-Mobile and reunite with AT&T. I placed an order through http://www.wirefly.com/. They offer a nice selection of mobile phones at no cost plus free expedited shipping. Initially I chose the wrong Blackberry Curve but when I realized this the order had shipped out already. The weekend was approaching and I didn't want to be without a cell phone. So I called and asked them would they be willing to ship me the correct phone immediately so that we can speed up the process. I was reaching...I thought I might get a chuckle from the agent. To my surprise I guess these things happen often and I was told they would accommodate me with a $250.00 deposit on my credit card...what?! You have to be kidding, right?! The agent places me on hold and comes back and says...we'll waive the fee. Just sign the package and place the pre-paid shipping label on the box and send it back to us. Ahhh great customer service. I love it! This was on Thursday afternoon. I received the phone on Friday- business as usual.

A Moxie Review: Passoa Liqueur

And speaking of my trip to PR...the bartenders @ the Ritz Carlton's The Ocean Bar & Grill in San Juan use Passoa in their Sangria. It was delicious! It was the first time I've ever heard about this liqueur. Apparently it is very popular in PR. Hopefully, I'll be able to find it locally for the weekend :-)

Cheap Eats vs. Fine Dining: The Moxie Remix

I just had some yummy Indian food for lunch-I'm stuffed! I had two choices for Indian food practically right next door to each other. I skipped the nicer looking restaurant and went with my instinct. I consider myself a foodie and love to try new restaurants and cuisines or the same cuisines in different restaurants and it brought me to think about my recent trip to Puerto Rico. My beau made dinner reservations at a restaurant called KOCO in the El San Juan Hotel. Its a beautiful modernesque Caribbean restaurant and came highly recommended by a couple of people. We were excited to get there and eat and just enjoy the night out. Upon reviewing the menu, we noticed they didn't have what we wanted. We ended up ordering drinks and sharing an appetizer (which were good) before leaving in search for authentic comida criolla (Spanish soul food). We found a place, really a hole in the wall that served delicious food which was just what we were in search for. I say all this to say that sometimes the most obscure places serve the best food. It's great being in a hot spot, eating, drinking and people watching but I prefer a delicious euphoric culinary experience over recounting the amount of trendy places I've frequented-well most of the time anyway ;-)

PETA & Nia

Actress Nia Long donned her birthday suit in the "I'd Rather Go Naked Than Wear Fur" ad campaign for PETA. She looks as beautiful as always. Other celebs have joined this controversial campaign in the name of animal advocacy and good PR of course. See what Ms. Nia has to say below:
