The debate of extending children's schools hours, summer breaks, etc. is an old one. But before we start proposing extensions let's fix the bureaucracy. Then start decreasing the size of the class rooms, reevaluating the content of education, start compensating teachers based on performance and finally offering vouchers. It's a shame that so many good private/religious schools have closed down for lack on enrollment when so many public school children could have filled those seats.
